Originally called Pride Day, the Bensalem Fall Festival was first celebrated in 1992 for the township's tri-centennial.

Wilds animals, "dancing pickles," antique cars, fireworks and a costumed disco-tribute show band are just a few of the ways Bensalem will mark its 317th birthday Saturday.
Scheduled activities for the 17th annual Bensalem Fall Festival include acrobatics by Flipped Out Productions, the Bucks County Zoo Animal Junction, performances by Just for Dogs, a classic rock cover band, and Boogie Wonderland Band.
Organizers also promise an antique car show, Kay Rosaries Big Cat Encounter, Johnny Peers Muttville Comix, and the dancing Paisley Pickles, who promise to "take children on a wild musical ride."
Other events for children include the Whatt-Not Farm Petting Zoo, Pony Express Amusements and Michael Bonacci Magic Show. The day begins at 10 a.m. with the national anthem and awards for special community volunteers. The day ends with a Zambelli Fireworks show scheduled for shortly after 9 p.m.
All events are scheduled in and around the Bensalem Township building at 2400 Byberry Road. However, parking will be provided only at Bensalem High School, 4319 Hulmeville Road. Shuttle buses will run throughout the day, said Dave Fiedler, manager of Bensalem's community affairs department.
The Bensalem Fall Festival, originally called Pride Day, was first celebrated in 1992, on the tri-centennial of township's founding. But you don't have to be a resident to attend.
In the event of rain Saturday, the festival will be held Sunday.
